Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram is the bigger of Kerala's two main IT parks: 768.63 acres, 13.147 million sq ft of IT space, about 540 companies and 84,000 direct jobs, with software exports of Rs 17,092 crore in 2025-26. Infopark in Kochi is younger (2004) and smaller, but it was growing faster at last count, and for anyone who lives in Kochi it is the one that actually shapes daily life. The figures below come from each park's own published results.

Technopark figures are from its 2025-26 results, announced in September 2026; Infopark figures are from its 2023-24 results, announced in September 2024, the most recent full set we could verify. The export row compares the same year for both.

Which is bigger, Technopark or Infopark?

Technopark, on almost every measure that matters: land, built-up space, jobs and export revenue. Its 2025-26 exports of Rs 17,092 crore were up about 17.3 per cent on the Rs 14,575 crore of the year before. The one column where Infopark leads is company count, and that is partly because Infopark counts its satellite campuses in Thrissur and Alappuzha districts; the Kochi campus alone had 503 companies.

Where Infopark stands out is pace. Its exports grew 24.28 per cent in 2023-24, against roughly 14 per cent for Technopark the same year, and back in 2016-17 Infopark had only about 32,800 employees and exports of around Rs 3,000 crore. More than doubling headcount in seven years is the story of Kakkanad, and our Kakkanad living guide covers what that growth did to the suburb around it.

Which IT hub is the largest in Kerala?

Technopark. It describes itself as the first IT park in India, and nothing else in Kerala comes close on area. Kerala's other major government IT park, Cyberpark in Kozhikode, is the smallest of the three. Infopark is a clear second, and the most useful way to think about the pair is not as rivals but as the two anchors of a state that is trying to grow its share of India's software exports from a small base.

Who works there?

More overlap than you might expect. TCS, Tech Mahindra, EY and UST are listed at both parks. Beyond those, the names lean differently:

  • Technopark: Infosys, TCS, UST, Oracle, Allianz, Tata Elxsi, Tech Mahindra and EY are among its tenants.
  • Infopark: TCS, Wipro, HCL, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Cognizant, KPMG, EY and UST are among its tenants.

If you are job-hunting in Kerala IT, the practical point is that a company name alone does not tell you which city the job is in, so check the specific campus a listing is for before you apply.

Which one should a Kochi techie pick?

If your life is in Kochi, Infopark, and it is not close. A job at Technopark from Kochi means relocating, because a daily commute of some 200 km each way is not a commute. The fair criticism of Infopark is the access: Kakkanad's roads were not built for 67,000 people arriving at once, and until the metro's Pink Line to Infopark opens, rush hour there is a grind. Technopark's advantage is scale: more companies of the very large kind, and a longer track record. For more on Kochi's tech economy, see Infopark vs SmartCity or browse Tech & AI.
