Kerala PSC One Time Registration: How to Do It Without Mistakes
Kerala PSC One Time Registration is free and done once on Thulasi. The photo rules, Aadhaar, the confirmation step, and the mistakes that cost exams.
Kerala PSC One Time Registration is free, done once on the Thulasi portal (thulasi.psc.kerala.gov.in), and the step that trips most people is the photograph: it must have your name and the date it was taken printed at the bottom, and for anyone creating a new profile it must be taken within the last six months. Once uploaded correctly, the photo is valid for 10 years. Everything else is a standard online form.

How do I register for Kerala PSC One Time Registration?
You cannot apply for any Kerala PSC post without a One Time Registration profile, so this comes first. The form runs in stages:
- Start: open the Thulasi portal and choose New Registration (Sign Up).
- Personal details: name, date of birth, gender and the rest, exactly as on your certificates.
- Communication details: address, mobile number and email. Use a number you will keep for years.
- Photo and signature: upload both. The Thulasi homepage has its own Resize Photograph/Signature tool if your files are too big.
- User ID and password: choose them, preview everything and submit. You will also verify your mobile number with an OTP during sign-up.
After that you log in with your User ID and password to apply for posts, download admission tickets and see results. The Commission asks you to quote your User ID in any future communication with it, so save it somewhere safe.
What are the photo rules for Kerala PSC?
| Rule | What the PSC says |
|---|---|
| Name and date | Your name and the date the photo was taken must be printed legibly at the bottom |
| New profiles | The photo must be taken within six months of upload |
| Validity | A correctly uploaded photo is valid for 10 years from the date of upload |
| Oldest allowed | Notifications also set a cut-off: the photo must be taken after 31 December 2012 |
Once the 10 years are up the photo is no longer valid, so upload a new one before you apply. Get the name-and-date strip printed by the studio when the photo is taken. It is a five-minute job there and an annoying one at home.
Should I add Aadhaar to my PSC profile?
Yes. The Commission's instruction is that candidates who have an Aadhaar card should add it as the ID proof in their profile. Make sure the name on your Aadhaar matches your certificates before you do; if it does not, fix Aadhaar first. Our Aadhaar update guide for Kochi covers how.
What is confirmation in Kerala PSC?
This is the step that costs people exams. Applying for a post is not enough. If the selection includes a written, OMR or online test, you must also submit a confirmation that you will write it, through your profile, within a stipulated period. Only candidates who confirm can download the admission ticket, which becomes available in the last 15 days before the test. In the PSC's own words, applications without confirmation in time "will be rejected absolutely".
PSC notifications say the confirmation period is published in the examination calendar. Put it in your phone calendar the day you apply.
Other rules worth knowing
- No fee: the PSC charges no application fee.
- No take-backs: an application, once submitted, cannot be deleted or altered.
- Age: calculated as on 1 January of the year of the notification. SC and ST candidates get 5 years of upper age relaxation, OBC candidates 3 years.
- Your responsibility: the Commission holds you responsible for the correctness of your profile and the secrecy of your password.
Keep scanned copies of your certificates ready for the verification stage; DigiLocker is a handy place to hold them. For more how-tos, browse Guides.
Rules as published in Kerala PSC notifications and its Tips to Applicants page as of October 2026. Check the latest notification for the post you are applying to, which always overrides general guidance.
